BMW K 1200 GT
Submitted by root on March 10, 2006 - 4:12pm. BMW | Sport TouringIntroducing the new K 1200 GT, BMW Motorrad is strengthening its worldwide market leadership in the tourer segment and gaining an even greater lead in the market. Following the success of the former model bearing the same name, the new K 1200 GT opens up new dimensions in riding dynamics and long-distance qualities, once again proving the outstanding skills and competence of the white-and-blue marque.
A special feature of the K 1200 GT is that this new machine does not require the slightest compromise, but rather overcomes the apparent contradiction between superior sportiness and a high standard of touring comfort.
2005 BMW R 1200 RT and R 1200 ST
Submitted by root on March 1, 2006 - 6:34am. BMW | Sport TouringWoodcliff Lake, NJ - March 16, 2005... Sport Touring is a class well known to BMW because, well - BMW just about invented it. And now, with the completely redesigned R 1200 RT and the new - think R 1200 ST, the concept has been even further refined. The R 1200 RT replaces the exceptionally versatile and popular R 1150 RT, while the R 1200 ST replaces the R 1150 RS, the last version of the legendary motorcycle that started the modern Boxer era in model year 1994.
Both models use new engine and chassis technologies derived from the award-winning R 1200 GS introduced last year. However, the new models are provided with improvements to suit them, ideally as ever, to the Sport Touring role. In much the same way as the R 1200 GS, both the R 1200 RT and the R 1200 ST have been designed for dramatically reduced weight compared to the preceding models as well as an impressive boost in maximum power from the all-new 1170cc, four-valve-per-cylinder Boxer twin.
